The 7th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) is being held from 29 February to 2 March 2024 in the Algerian capital, Algiers. Billed as the « Summit of Major Challenges », it will focus on the role of natural gas in the transition to renewable energies.

GABON : trois présumés trafiquants d’ivoire, interpelés à Mouila
De nouveaux pourfendeurs d’espèces animales protégées viennent d’être mis en déroute au Gabon. Bénéficiant de l’assistance technique de l’ONG Conservation Justice, des éléments de la police judiciaire ont appréhendé trois individus en possession de six pointes d’ivoire. L’opération a été menée le 9 février 2024 à Mouila, une ville située dans le sud du pays. Les trois présumés trafiquants sont actuellement en détention dans les locaux de la police judiciaire de Mouila, en attendant leur comparution devant le Procureur de la République. Ils encourent une peine d’emprisonnement de 10 ans selon le code pénal gabonais.
